The Clerk put these up, years ago, to give everybody a good laugh!!!!! |
Lt. Hatcher's Dusters -- Is that one on the right aimed at my head? Photo taken Fall of 1970 at the foot of the An Khe Pass, in the base camp of the 2nd platoon, Delta Company, 84th Engineer Battalion, led by, guess who? Dusters were 40mm track mounted canon used mainly (at least by the engineers) in night time defensive positions. Of course, the future clerk's "night time defensive" position was curled up asleep somewhere. |
When the Clerk was young and brave --as opposed to old and well--more careful. Photo taken March 1971 in the "high grass" southwest of Danang. The future clerk leans on his M-79 grenade launcher in order to steady his nerves just a few minutes after an encounter with enemy machine guns. He probably needed a drink! |
